My name is Shannon Park and this is about me.

My Story

I started as a performer, discovered a career in makeup, and ended up becoming an esthetician. And now I incorporate all of it.

I began my cosmetics career as a headshot makeup artist at Julie Brimberg Photography in midtown Manhattan and expanded to other studios as my skillset and reputation grew. I worked for the cosmetic company Make Up For Ever from 1995-2000 as a makeup artist, salesperson, counter manager at Barneys New York, and Retail Account Manager for the Northeast region. I raised my children, volunteered at their schools and eventually circled back to doing makeup again. I enrolled at Atelier Esthetique to complete my 600 hour training to get licensed as an esthetician in the state of NY, receiving it in 2016.

In my business, Gotham Goddess, I provide a full range of esthetics to people in the NYC area and beyond. I do makeup, brows, facials, peels, and concierge services like personal shopping and makeup tutorials. I work out of my home and also do house calls. My husband and I live in Inwood (Upstate Manhattan) where we raised our two daughters.

I’m dedicated to ensuring that my clients feel seen and heard. You’re never “too old” or “too young” to start a skincare regimen. Cleansing your skin everyday is a regimen, which most people do. I like to start with the basics and build from there. Nothing too overwhelming. I educate you on what ingredients will work for you and help you understand the protocols. Because It’s never too late to take care of your skin.

My thoughts on makeup

Makeup is a choice everyone can make—to enhance what’s already there or to hide things you feel insecure about. When I do your makeup, my job is to help the authentic you emerge, not create a mask for you to hide behind. You might have a different “look” after different makeup sessions with me, because there is more than one way for you to show up as the real you. Plus, you may want to align your makeup with a particular moment in time or event. I will cater to you and address any concerns you have by customizing your experience. I want people of all ages, stages of life, and gender expressions to have fun with “glam and grooming” and embrace the possibilities in front of them.

I believe that everyone deserves to look and feel their best in photographs, videos, or for presentations -regardless of gender. Many people may not realize the impact that hair and makeup can have on the overall quality of their media, especially for men.

Professional makeup can help even out skin tone, reduce shine, and minimize any blemishes or imperfections, ensuring a flawless and natural appearance in photographs or video.
